Journalism in the Gen AI era needs to get deeper and more careful attention.
"The fact is that journalistic work cannot be replaced by machines or robots," said Dr. GM Soekowati, M.I.Kom who will appear as a speaker at the seminar which will take place I in Jakarta, Saturday (2/15/2025).
Furthermore, GM Soekowati explained that the journalistic process requires human work to provide a construction of reality for the facts of the events that occur.
"Not all facts must be revealed in the story," he said.
By revealing carefully selected facts and going through the agenda setting and gate keeping stages, only then will the journalistic work become a work that will get the attention of the audience both in print media, online media, electronic media, and social media.
"All require brain work, thought work, logic, and dialectics," continued the communication science expert who graduated Ph.D. from Universitas Padjadjaran, who is a lecturer at the Postgraduate Program in Media and Communication, Pancasila University, Jakarta, yesterday.
This seminar was held in order to realize an alliance of journalists in Asia pioneered by Xiamen University from the People's Republic of China and Universitas Pancasila as well as journalists in Indonesia.
